City Barbeque Winston-Salem

As a family member of a barbecue owning restaurant, I must say you have rivaled my uncle out in Mocksville called Dino's. The ability to sample test the meats before you order what you want is an amazing thing because that is nowhere any barbecue place in State North Carolina has ever allowed that. The bama chicken is freaking amazing. The service is awesome , I'm going to call out Denise for being an awesome person, Even having a laugh with me, I asked for a suggestion she said I'll give you a sample of all the meats which was awesome. The overall atmosphere of this place is great and it's wide open for family Great place to bring your family and your kids and just sit down and enjoy. There's booth seats there's table seats there's bar seats there's plenty of places to sit there's lifted higher-ups chairs for those that are height challenged and want to feel tall. I'm kidding don't cancel me. The food is amazing, The sauce is amazing, The drinks are amazing. And I was actually full just from the sandwich and the okra and I still have a freaking salad and naner pudding (That's banana pudding for all you non-Southern folk who don't understand Southern talk) I'm kidding don't cancel me. This is awesome place and Denise is awesome and so is the other teams in the back and in the front helping out everywhere else You are all freaking awesome I love this place I will definitely be back I need to look and see if they do catering cuz I got some events coming up that I definitely want them to cater so awesome place if you haven't ate there do it now immediately go there now don't even cook dinner tonight Just go there eat do it do it You know you want to.

Edrick (hope I spelled that right) was one solid dude. Super friendly and even gave me the senior discount. Ordered 3 meats with 2 sides. One of the meat choices was the pork belly burnt ends. They were a little too fatty for my liking but it was remedied in flash when I mentioned it. I was quickly given a replacement, no questions asked. Thebfood could jnhave been a little warmer but other than that, solid bbq! Keep it up Edrick, you'll be manager one day!

Me and my boyfriend ate here for the first time and I can definitely say we will be back! Derik was very helpful, he helped us decide what we wanted and gave great suggestions (which did not disappoint) and it was one of the BEST restaurant experiences I have had in a while with both food and service. City BBQ will be my go to anytime I’m in Winston from now on!

First time eating here and boy was I surprised. The food was great. The brisket was tender and very tasty. This was really good bbq. Now let me say something about the service. This has to be the most friendly crew that I have met. These people actually seem to love their job and working with the public. Please keep up the good work.

Customer service was phenomenal atmosphere overall inside the restaurant is great.The music was fantastic as well as the food. An exceptionally clean environment. If you ever need a place to stop over in Jonestown, this is a great place to pick for you or your family. Derek, Shane & edryck treated us to an amazing lunch and helped us out with any concerns.

We had a wonderful experience today for lunch. We were cheerfully greeted by Eddie and he was very interactive as we placed our order. We had a question and he and his teammate graciously accommodated our request. It is rare to have such a positive interaction with staff at a counter service restaurant. The food was delish! Our favorite sauce was the "swine wine"! We will definitely be back again!

Our experience couldn’t have been better. When we arrived, my daughter had picked a discontinued sandwich off of an old paper menu, but Derrick hopped in and happily handled things for us. We placed our order and I forgot a side of hush puppies so I went to order them, and he gave them to us on the house. We ordered brisket and smoked wings to share and the brisket was perfectly cooked with a beautiful smoke ring. It was tender and juicy and far from dry. The wings also had a great flavor and were very juicy and crispy. Derrick came out to check on us and we spoke a bit about his restaurant and how he cooks the food and his passion for the craft really shows in how he talks about it. He then brought us a side order of collards because I had mentioned that I wanted to try them but was a little leery and WOW these taste like nothing short of home made!! I’ve never had greens from a restaurant that were so perfectly balanced and flavorful. That’s one hell of a talent! And last but certainly not least is the banana pudding. Now I’m sure yall have had good banana pudding before, but I promise it wasn’t like this. They have a caramel sauce, fresh banana, and a vanilla wafer crumble on top that’s cooked with butter, sugar, and cinnamon. Absolutely AMAZING!! I highly recommend checking this place out!

Had a great experience here. Edrick was super helpful and it was really nice that he spoke Spanish, it’s always nice to have bilingual guys with such a good vibe! Food was great and super healthy! Desserts were fantastic too! A must go!
